USHIO Infrared-emitters (IR-emitters) are manufactured from quartz glass and are constructed to ensure longevity of the emitter. The product range consists of emitters for short wave, medium wave and long wave applications.
IR-emitters available from 150W up to 10,000W
Colour temperature from less than 800 K up to 3,200 K
IR-emitters available with or without integrated reflector
Radiation adaptation in accordance with the application, by use of additional tubes or coatings
A unique feature for IR-emitters is the EasyFit-technology. The lamp exchange is extremely easy, because the emitter is both electrically attached and at the same time mechanically mounted.
The well-known quick plug-in connector (KSSV) can be assembled.
Customer specific modifications or new developments of IR-emitters on request
By reduction of the wattage, the short wave IR-emitter will have a medium wavelength without blackening the quartz tube.

Benefits of use of IR-emitters

  • Short IR-emitter reaction time: 1-3 seconds, i. e. very little delay between switch-on, control and switch-off

  • Very important if the material supply is stopped!

  • IR-emitters transform 92% of the total input electrical power into IR radiation. 8% are lost to visible light and through heat conduction.

  • Typical average life of 5,000 hours at rated voltage

  • No heating of the surrounding air through short wave radiation

  • No warm-up cost or heat-up time

  • High quality quartz tubes guarantee mechanical and thermal robustness

  • Dimmable with falling and leading-edge phase cutting dimmers

  • IR radiation can be directed by use of an integrated reflector

  • Low IR power loss

  • Transport of process humidity and/or solvents by the cooling-air

  • Specific area heating from 1 up to 500 kW/m²

  • Construction of compact machines due to the small dimensions of the IR-emitters

  • Specific power density from 10 up to 300 W per cm heat length
