INFRARED HALOGEN LAMPS

Photo Electronics introduces a wide range of ovens for heating and drying process in Industrial Applications, using the existing best technologies and solution available in the market.
On industrial processes, heating is conventionally performed by means of medium wave (Quartz emitters) or long wave (Ceramic emitters or gas burners).
Photo Electronics utilizes on own ovens Infrared Halogen Lamps. These lamps generate short wave Infrared radiations, offerring great practical and energy benefits.

The heart of the system: IR Halides Lamps

HOW THE IR OVEN IS MADE
The oven is composed of a tunnel shaped metal supporting structure adjustable in height. It supports Infrared Halogen Lamp Unit, complete with reflectors, vapour/heat extraction system, metal covering panel that shields IR light up to ground.
A specific electric cabinet allows the operator to manage the oven, switch on/off lamps and adjust the power by a potentiometer (dimming feature).
Oven is independent from the conveyor system. In fact it has been projected to be adapted to every type of conveyor or feeding rack and it can be moved or fixed to ground.

TARGET OF THE SYSTEM.
1. Accelerate the catalysis (hardening) of twocomponent polyester resins hardening used for stones and agglomerates surfaces treatment before their on line polishing.

2. Marble slabs/tiles heating before resins and putties application :

  • Increasing the material temperature

  • It helps the elimination of the superficial moisture

  • Increases the mastic penetration

  • Increases the mastic adhesion into stone porosity

ENERGY SAVING
IR Halogen lamps cut energy consumption during production cycle. In fact when working line stops, oven switches off completely (zero comsumption). Then within 1-2 second it can start again and produce 100% energy output (fig. 2).
Thanks to the IR Halogen Lamps higher efficiency, less installed power is required to obtain the same temperature on the material as with traditional heaters ( significantly
reduced energy comsumption).

EFFICIENCY / PRODUCTIVITY.
Infrared Halogen Lamps convert 90% of the energy absorbed into IR radiation.
Today they are the most efficient heat source . This means to save energy comparing with quartz medium wave or Ceramic long wave IR emitters (fig. 1).

VERSATILITY / ADVANTAGES

  • Oven operating power is adjustable according to requirements and temperature of processed material (material isn't overheated, as the system allows a fine tuning of temperature for a correc heating).

  • Lamps reach immediately their operating output: it only requires 2 seconds to get the max. level emission (fig. 2).

  • Short wave of IR lamps has more penetrating power (on material) than Ceramic long wave and Quartz medium wave .

  • Short wave IR heats directly the exposed object surface without heating the surround air. While Quartz and Ceramic emitters firstly heat the surroud air and then air heats material.

  • During stop working line, material that is passing through the oven isn't overheated, because IR short wave lamps are switched off and temperatore drops in few seconds for their low thermal inertia (Fig. 2).

  • The homogeneus and well distributed heating is helped by special polished or hammered aluminium reflectors. They contribute to smooth out the heath beam pattern and optimize the temperature distribution over the material which is passing through the oven.

  • The compact IR Halogen lamps design, allows to produce ovens with reduced dimensions, so they can be installed also in tight spaces.

SAFETY
The low thermal inertia of IR Halogen lamp, allows their safe switching-off in case of necessity (no overheating).
The cooling time is by far lower than Quartz and Ceramic IR emitters (fig. 2). This gives a better safety level during the equipment maintenance .

Using IR Halogen Lamps you can save energy and save our Planet Earth !
