UV Measurement Instruments
Measurement tools
Photo Electronics distributes a wide range of instruments for measuring sources emitting Ultraviolet light.
The instruments are able to measure correctly the UV spectrum ranges.
Thanks to decades of experience of our technicians in the field of Ultraviolet, we are able to recommend the suitable instrument for each application.
The available UV instruments are either radiometers or dosimeters, or combined, to provide both values (mw/cm2 and mJ/cm2).
In addition to the measurement spectral range, we suggest the most suitable type, according to customer special needs.
UV Meter
Used to measure the irradiance, so the light intensity (mWatt/cm2).
The measurement takes place instantly, the values can be viewed on the LCD display, on some models you can choose the measurement scale with a selector, other models are “autorange” type.
UV Radiometers instruments are available in many versions to measure separately different parts of the Ultraviolet spectrum such as:
- UV-C 230-280nm,
- UV-B 280-315nm,
- UV-A 315-410nm,
- UV Diazo 350-460nm,
- UV-LED 380-420nm,
- UV-V 395-445nm
- or Full UV spectrum 230-410nm.
The radiometer instrument consists of a handheld unit connected to the sensor by a cable.
Photo Electronics will be able to advise you on the most suitable instrument for your applications.
UV Dosimeters/Integrators
Useful to measure the Ultraviolet dose (mJ/cm2), so the amount of energy radiated in a given exposure time.
The measurement takes place at the end of the exposure, when the instrument is stopped it returns the DOSE value expressed in mJoule /cm2 or Joule/cm2. The value can be viewed on the LCD display.
Some mode can read both dose (mJ/cm2) and irradiance (mW/cm2).
Available to read up to 4 channels UV at the same time (UVC - UVB - UVA - UVV) and temperature also.
It is used by making it translate into the oven where the UV radiation occurs, or by placing it under UV light in case of static exposures.
UV Dosimeter instruments are available in many versions to measure different parts of the Ultraviolet spectrum separately such as:
- UV-C 230 – 280nm,
- UV-B 280 – 315nm,
- UV-A 315 – 410nm,
- UV Diazo 350 – 460nm,
- UV-LED 380 – 420nm,
- UV-V 395 – 445nm
- or Full spectrum UV 230 – 410nm.
The dosimeter is composed by a single unit of different sizes and shapes, on one side a sensor acquires the values then on the other the LCD display shows the measured values.
A version with "wireless" sensor is also available for measurements in small areas.
Photo Electronics will be able to advise you on the most suitable instrument for your applications.
